Tripoli, 26 May 2014:
Representatives from China, who occupied a good part of the back of Hall 1 at Libya Build, made a strong showing at the expo last week. With over 30 companies in the construction sector, the Chinese delegation made up for the absence of exhibitors from countries traditionally involved with the event, such as Tunisia, France and Morocco, whose delegation left early.
Kathy Chou, supervisor of the Chinese delegation and project manager of Huiketong Exhibition Co., Ltd., a company that coordinates delegations of Chinese companies for expos all over the world, told the Libya Herald that the fragile security situation in Libya did not deter them from attending the expo. “On the contrary, the Libyan market constitutes an important marketing opportunity for the different Chinese construction and building companies, particularly in machinery for ceramics and concrete,” Chou explained.
“In preparation for this year’s event, we familiarised ourselves with the security information from last year’s expo and did some research into the present situation in Libya. Being well-informed, we were able to come without feeling afraid,” Chou concluded. [/restrict]
