An Argentinian trade delegation of businessmen and representatives of Argentinian companies has postponed a scheduled . . .[restrict]trip to Libya because of the clashes in Tripoli and Benghazi and growing insecurity.
The trade delegation representing several export sectors, including the grain, meat and fruit and vegetable industries, was scheduled to arrive on 24 May. They were hoping to expand their trade in Libya.
A representative of the Argentinian Embassy told Libya Herald that a delegation came last year and made contacts within the Libyan business community. They were coming again this year, hoping to strengthen those ties.
Meetings had been scheduled with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, the Union of Chambers of Commerce and individual Libyan businessman.
The Argentinian Embassy representative said that they delegation hopes to reschedule their trip for sometime in June, though no firm date has been set yet. [/restrict]
