Tripoli, 13 April 2014:
British Airways has still not given a date for restarting flights to Libya, after suspending services more than three weeks ago.
“We are keeping the situation under review and will communicate any changes to our schedule to our customers,” a spokesperson for BA said. “We are sorry for any inconvenience but safety will always be our highest priority.” BA first cancelled flights following a security breach at Tripoli International Airport on 21 March when a missile attack damaged the surface of the runway. The incident also sparked security concerns from other airlines. Lufthansa and Austrian have stopped flying to Libya indefinitely and Alitalia has suspended services until mid-April. [/restrict]
