The Arete Foundation for Art and Culture and the Italian Cultural Institute gave the first . . .[restrict]in a series six of film screenings last night at Tripoli’s Art House.
The showcase began with director Paolo Sorrentino’s 2008 Cannes Jury Prize winning film Il Divo, a stylistic political thriller about the life of seven-time Italian Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti, and runs until 10 May.
An Italian film will be shown at the Art House every Saturday until the end of the screenings. The next film in the showcase is Il Postino, a 1994 film by director Michael Radford in which Chilean poet Pablo Neruda befriends a postman who learns to share his love of poetry.
The film screenings are supported by the Dutch Embassy and Tawasul Libya. [/restrict]
