Tripoli, 19 Arpril 2014:
Polls opened for municipal elections in Jalu this morning with polling centre staff reporting reasonable levels of . . .[restrict]voter turn-out.
“Elections began at 8 am across nine polling centres,” Jalu municipal elections committee member Ibrahim Al-Sikran told the Libya Herald. “Turnout has been reasonable so far but we expect higher rates in the afternoon,” he added.
Shikran said that 5,750 voters had registered to vote in the elections although organisers had hope for as many as 12,000 voters when registration opened. [/restrict]
