Tripoli, 27 March 2014:
Members of the Ajdabiya bomb disposal unit defused a car bomb this morning near one of . . .[restrict]the town’s local schools.
A security source in Ajdabiya, speaking on a condition of anonymity, told the Libya Herald that local people noticed a suspicious-looking car parked near Al-Shoula school this morning. A citizen then informed the security authorities, he said.
Officials who came to investigate the vehicle discovered that it was a car bomb and immediately called members of the local bomb disposal unit to the scene. They were successfully able to defuse the explosives.
The source said it looked likely that, due to the proximity of the car to the school, students had been the intended target. [/restrict]
