Benghazi, 25 February 2014:
In another attack on Benghazi’s police force, today gunmen opened fire on a police car driving . . .[restrict]on the highway in the Bel Aon area of the city, leaving one dead and another injured.
The dead man has been identified as Hassed Omar Jadallah, although the name of the injured man has not been released for security reasons. Both men were taken to a Benghazi hospital where the injured man is receiving treatment, according to the spokesman for Benghazi Joint Security Room, Ibrahim Al-Sharaa.
On Friday, two Bangladeshi workers were shot dead in what appears to have been another incident targeting the police. The two men, Abul Kalam Azad and Shafiqur Rahman, worked as cleaners for the Sharikat Kazi firm and were being taken to do some work at a local police station when the car came under fire, Sharaa said. He added that the police driving the vehicle rather than the Bangladeshi workers were thought to have been the intended target. [/restrict]
