Tripoli, 23 February 2014:
Three Wataniya TV journalists and their two associates who were kidnapped in Tripoli two weeks ago . . .[restrict]have been released.
The father of three of the kidnapped men, Ibraheem Abdel-Gader Al-Rida, told the Libya Herald he was “extremely pleased” to have his sons returned to him and that all five members of the group were staying at his home in Tripoli.
Sleema Abdislam, the programme coordinator for Al-Wataniya in Sebha, where the journalists were based, said he had been in contact with the men and that they were in good health.
Ibrahim Abdel-Gader, Sadam Al-Rashidi and Ibrahim Al-Wafi were kidnapped in Tripoli on 9 February while travelling along the Airport Road with Abdel-Gader’s bothers Ramadan and Shaban.
