Tripoli, 31 December 2013:
Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced yesterday that it has made a new gas discovery.
The gas discovery is . . .[restrict]in the Ghadames basin and was reported by the NOC to be of a production capacity of 29 million cubic feet per day
The discovery is in a concession owned in a joint venture between Algerian company Sonatract, and the two Indian oil companies, Oil India and India Oil.
NOC reported that the discovery was from exploratory well 96-1-1-B in concession 95/96 which is located about 650 kms south west of Tripoli and about 70 km south of the large Wafa gas field. [/restrict]
