The number killed and injured as a result of the Bersis checkpoint suicide blast has . . .[restrict]increased today to 13 dead, three injured, two of them with critical injuries, and two people are reported as missing.
The government has announced three days of mourning and has condemned the attack, calling it a cowardly and terrorist act.
In addition the Independence Day celebrations, planned to take place in Benghazi, have also been postponed in respect for the Bersis victims.
The Bersis checkpoint suicide bombing is believed to be the first ever suicide terror incident in Libya. [/restrict]
