Benghazi, 11 December 2013:
An officer in the Air Force was kidnapped this morning in Benghazi while driving to work.
The . . .[restrict]non-commissioned officer, Khaled Salah Al-Hafar, was abducted by unknown assailants at around eight o’clock this morning in the area of Buatni. His kidnappers blocked the surrounding streets before seizing him. His car was left abandoned.
Ibrahim Shara, spokesman for the Benghazi Joint Security Room, told the Libya Herald that there is little information surrounding the kidnapping but that an investigation is ongoing. Shara said that Hafar may have been taken simply because of his work in the military. [/restrict]
