Tripoli, 17 November 2013:
The deputy head of Libyan intelligence, Mustafa Nouh, was kidnapped earlier today in Tripoli airport . . .[restrict]car park just after he flew back from Istanbul but was released later this evening. Also seized with him was his assistant Ala Abu Hafs. He, however, managed to escape when the vehicle he was being taken in was stopped at a checkpoint, reportedly in the Crimea district, south of Tripoli.
Speaking later to Libya Al-Ahrar TV by phone, Abu Hafs alleged the kidnappers were from Zintan.
Reports that Nouh had been to Istanbul to attend a meeting of the Muslim Brotherhood along a number of other Libyans including Mohamed Sawan, leader of the Justice & Construction Party, remain unconfirmed. [/restrict]
