Tripoli, 4 November 2013:
Jotun Libya (Mumtaz Company), the distributor for Jotun paints in Libya launched the new “Lady Design” concept of paints. The product launch was held at a grand launch event at the Radisson hotel in Tripoli.
Shashi Kumar the General Manager for Jotun Libya said that “Juton has been at the forefront of introducing paints into the region and the industry has always looked to Jotun to lead the way. We are pleased to introduce the “Lady Design” range as a concept and product”, he added.
The range, which had already been launched in the MENA region, had been designed based on wide research of consumers. It has been received favourably by both consumers and distributors, Kumar explained.
Mahmoud Hashim, Marketing Manager of Jotun Libya, explained that although this top range of paints contributed only 10 percent of sales in Libya, it attracted a disproportionate amount of distributors’ time and attention because it was important as it attracted customers to the showrooms.
Hashim revealed that it was women who had the most influence when it came to choosing the paint for the home and that research had shown that these top range designer paints made them feel unique.
The focus group market research also revealed that women needed more help in coordinating their chosen paint with their home look. For the “Lady Design” range, the painter was very important in delivering the desired quality designer finish, Hashim explained. Jotun said that they see their “Lady Design” designer range competing with wall paper.
The Jotun range of paints included Colour Mirage, Prestige, Glitter, Glaze, Stucco Antica and Pear. Jotun also introduced new packaging for the plastic container of paint and will launch a comprehensive marketing campaign in 2014 promoting the new range. [/restrict]
