By Ashraf Abdul Wahab.

Tripoli, 13 October 2013:

A road between Tajoura and the Suq Al-Juma district of Tripoli was closed last night by people . . .[restrict]protesting about the disappearance of a local man under mysterious circumstances.

it was unclear whether the man had been kidnapped or arrested, according to a local resident. He added that the thoroughfare had been barricaded with concrete blocks, of the sort usually used in the central reservation of dual carriageways.

Two vehicles attempting to navigate a way through the blockade today were apparently attacked by the protestors. A refrigerated van was reportedly set ablaze and a taxi driver was physically assaulted and had his vehicle smashed.
