The Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation, Abdul Aziz Fadel called in the Libyan Ambassador in Cairo, Mohamed Faiz . . .[restrict]Jibril, to discuss the problems over Egyptians being stranded at Libyan airports after refused entry to Libya amid allegations of forged visa.
In the past few days, some 500 Egyptians ended up stranded at Tripoli International Airport, refused entry because their visas were believed to be fake . They were finally repatriated yesterday.
Over the past year and a half, several thousand Egyptians have been refused entry to Libya because of questions over the validity of their visas.
By coincidence today, immigration officials at Cairo airport arrested an Egyptian who was about to board a flight to Tripoli when it was discovered that his Libyan visa was a forgery. [/restrict]
