Leaders from the global oil and gas industry and NOC Libya are confirmed to speak at the 2nd Libya Forum taking place 16-18 June 2013 at the Cortinthia Hotel, Tripoli, Libya, organisers CWC report.
Decision makers from NOC Libya include, H.E. Abdelbari Al-Arusi, Minister of Oil & Gas, Libya, and Dr Nurri Berruein, Chairman of NOC Libya, who will provide an overview of Libya’s rich hydrocarbon sector and the opportunities available for potential investors looking to enter the Libyan oil and gas market.
The oil and natural gas industry makes up more than 70 percent of Libya’s economy and generates almost all the state’s revenue according to the International Monetary Fund. Consequently, Libya is preparing to draw up a new oil law which will allow them to launch a licensing round and attract international investment for their biggest GDP industry.
The Libya Forum will bring together oil and gas decision makers from the Libyan government and industry stakeholders, to discuss these vast oil and gas investment opportunities.
In addition to NOC Libya, industry experts from major IOC’s and service companies will provide insights into working in the Libyan oil and gas industry. Jay Pearson, Vice President, Business Development – IES at Petrofac will take part in a discussion panel on how NOC’s can play a part in forming a new petroleum regime in Libya.
