Tripoli, 6 August 2013:
Orphans across the country have been given new clothes for Eid by the Emirates Red Crescent in Libya, . . .[restrict]as part of a UAE Ramadan project to clothe a million children around the world.
Clothing has been distributed to poor and needy children, as well as vulnerable elderly people, in many regions of Libya, according to the Emirates Red Crescent.
‘Clothe a Million Children’ is this year’s UAE campaign in the spirit of Ramadan. Every year the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launches a humanitarian campaign, and ‘Clothe a Million Children’ has been such a success that it reached its target just ten days into Ramadan.
Sheikh Maktoum then said he was increasing the number of beneficiaries and extending the campaign until the end of Ramadan, so more underprivileged children could benefit.
Children in Bosnia, Yemen, Tanzania and Zanzibar, as well as Syrian children living as refugees in neighbouring countries, have also received clothing from the campaign. [/restrict]
