Tripoli, 21 August 2013:
An armed group was arrested on this evening at a Benghazi farm after a raid by the . . .[restrict]city’s Joint Security Room (BJSR) forces.
“We found 14 bags TNT explosives with the unknown group in one of the farms in Benghazi’s suburbs,” BJSR spokesman Abdullah Zaidi told the Libya Herald.
He declined to reveal the number of those in the armed group, saying that investigations were still continuing. They were all Libyans, he added, not a mixture of nationalities, as it has been stated on some of Facebook pages.
Even before the beginning of Ramadan in July, Benghazi has experienced a wave of killings, attempted killings, and attacks against the police, army and other targets. The latest was the Egyptian consulate last Saturday.
In July, the Prime Minister, Ali Zeidan, said that a team of foreign specialists would arrive to Tripoli and Benghazi to assist in investigations into the attacks , so far but there was no announcement about their arrival or the results of earlier investigations. [/restrict]
