Tripoli, 8 July 2013:
The newly-elected president of the National General Congress, Nuri Abu Sahmain, is this afternoon meeting French . . .[restrict]ambassador Antoine Sivan.
Discussions will include ways of strengthening bilateral ties, as well as the current security situation in Libya, political adviser at the French Embassy in Tripoli, Emmanuel Rimbert, told the Libya Herald.
“It is a courtesy visit, where the French ambassador will be meeting with the new Libyan GNC president to discuss how France can help Libya with maintaining security,” said Rimbert.
This visit comes four days after the honorary French consul in Benghazi, Jean Dufriche, and his wife survived a gun attack while driving home from an evening meeting. Dufriche left Benghazi for Tunis the following day. [/restrict]
