Tripoli, 10 June 2013:
Students at Tripoli University have called for a strike tomorrow in protest at the growing number . . .[restrict]of assaults by armed men and others who have been able to freely enter the university grounds without challenge.
The Students Union is demanding the campus be fully protected and that only students and staff be allowed onto the premises.
Students told the Libya Herald that the move follows an assault on a female student today. They said that many so-called militiamen were able to wander around the university looking for amusement.
The Union is hoping to organise a march tomorrow from the university to central Tripoli to protest at the lack of security at the university and across the country. [/restrict]
