Tripoli, 20 June 2013:

Merely hours after setting foot in Tripoli, newly appointed US Ambassador to Tripoli Deborah Jones presented . . .[restrict]her accreditation to Second Deputy head of the GNC, Salah Makhzoum, just after 9.30 this morning at the GNC.

And what a 24 hours it has been for the energetic Ambassador Jones. Barely six hours after arriving in town yesterday, Ambassador Jones, together with a few hundred of Tripoli’s high and mighty, attended the party at the old British Ambassador’s residence to celebrate the (British) Queen’s Birthday.

It was immediately noted at the Queen’s Birthday Party that Ambassador Jones was very confident with her Arabic. At her accreditation ceremony this morning, Ambassador Jones also presented herself in Arabic.
