An award-winning American film about a . . .[restrict]divorced man who learns how to be a single father and then has to fight to keep custody of his son, will be shown at Tripoli’s Art House tonight.
Kramer vs Kramer is Robert Benton’s Oscar-winning adaptation of Avery Corman’s bestseller, which tells the story of jilted husband Ted Kramer (Dustin Hoffman). After his wife Joanna (Meryl Streep) leaves him and their son Billy, workaholic ad executive Ted has to learn, through trial and error, how to become a single parent. After fifteen months, Joanna returns and Ted has to fight to keep custody of Billy.
Kramer vs Kramer is in English with Arabic subtitles.
Tonight’s film-screening is organised by the Arete Cinema Club. Cinemas and theatres in Libya were closed for decades and the cinema club aims to reintroduce films to the community.
