Tripoli, 20 June, 2013:
British Airways is to add a fourth weekly flight between London and Tripoli. The new . . .[restrict]Monday service will start on 2 September and bookings can be made as of now. The service leaves London at 08:50 and arrives in Tripoli at 13:25. It then departs the Libyan capital at 15:30 and arrives at London Heathrow’s Terminal 5 at 18:15.
Despite reports of doom and gloom about security in Libya and warnings about travelling to Libya from various foreign governments, the additional flight indicates a continuing growth in business interest in Libya. Emirates has announced that it will be operating a thrice-weekly service between and Tripoli and Dubai as of 1 September and, at the beginning of April, Alitalia doubled its flights between Tripoli and Rome.
British Airways says it scheduled its Tripoli-London services on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sunday as these are popular travel days for business customers. The service to London arrives at Terminal 5 in enough time to make the last connections to New York.
British Airways reinstated flights to Libya on 1 May 2012 when it began operating a three-weekly services. [/restrict]
