Tripoli, 2 May 2013:
The period for handing in older . . .[restrict]five and ten dinar banknotes which are being withdrawn from circulation has been extended, the Central Bank of Libya announced today.
The fourth and fifth series of the notes must now be handed into Central Bank branches across Libya by 30 May.
The series number is the first of the numbers on the front of the banknote.
The Central Bank has already extended the deadline several times since it first announced, in October last year, that the notes would be withdrawn. In January the deadline was given as 31 March. [/restrict]
