Tripoli, 14 March 2013:
A group of fifty young people will start a week-long course to support social activism projects on Sunday.
The ‘Paving the Future Youth Forum’ in Tripoli aims to help young social activists design, plan and implement their projects more effectively and efficiently.
Organised by the British Council in Libya as part of a capacity building programme, the week will focus on project management. It will also look at financial management and advocacy skill development training.
The Vice President of the GNC, Jumaa Ahmad Atigah, and the British Ambassador, Michael Aron, will attend the opening ceremony on Sunday.
The six-day event will feature daily workshops, as well as youth panel discussions with senior public figures, giving young people the chance to voice their thoughts and opinions. There will also be evening events, including a Young Arab Voices Debate and a theatrical performance by a Lebanese theatre company, Live Lactic Culture. [/restrict]
