A three-day rally that has classic cars and motor bikes crossing the Jebel Nafusa and heading into the . . .[restrict]desert started yesterday in Zintan.
With a large turnout in the town to send them off, competitors in the Al-Hamada 2013 rally left in the morning,covering the first 100-kilomtre leg south to the small oasis of Al-Marhan.
The second leg, today, is from Al Marhan across the northen edge of the Red Plateau (Al-Hamada Al-Hamra) to the oasis town of Derj, 100 kilometers east of Ghadames. From there, tomorrow, drivers will head north to Nalut and back to Zintan.
Organised by the Al-Jawareh Company for Tourism & Transport, the rally is being sponsored by several local organisations. [/restrict]
