Tripoli, 24 March, 2013:
Libya’s ambassador to the United States, Ali Aujali, has resigned. The resignation, which has been accepted by the . . .[restrict]government, was announced today, Sunday, by Prime Minister Ali Zeidan while addressing the General National Congress.
Aujali had been proposed by the Prime Minister as foreign minister. However, following intense opposition both within Congress and in the country at large because of his involvement with the Qaddafi regime, he withdrew his acceptance of the post at the end of December without being sworn in, despite having been cleared by the Integrity Commission.
