A Used Book Festival, which it is claimed will be to be the largest cultural event in Libya, . . .[restrict]is to be held between 27 February and 5 March in Martyrs’ Square in Tripoli. Thousands of old and secondhand books will be available for sale, exchange or even free for a whole week.
The organisers are calling on Tripolitans to donate books for sale or to become salesmen selling their old books.
According to the organisers, a special committee will sort the books and categorise them according to type. Funds generated from the sale of these books will be used to create a mobile library.
The prices of all secondhand books will be set in advance with prices will range between one to a maximum of LD 5 depending on the type, quality and volume of pages.
