Benghazi, 15 February 2103:
Security officials in Benghazi report the arrest in the city on Wednesday of a suspect in the case of the assassination of Ali Hassan Al-Jaber, the Al-Jazeera cameraman who was shot dead on 12 March 2011. A Qatari national, he was the first foreign journalist to be killed during the revolution. Several brigades were subsequently named after him.
The officials indicate that Jaber was deliberately targeted. They say that the unnamed suspect has confessed that the assassination was ordered by the Qaddafi regime and that he has provided details of the plot.
