Tripoli, 17 December:
There was heavy fighting in Tripoli in the early hours of Monday morningm after forces from . . .[restrict]the Supreme Security Committee and police moved against suspected drug dealers in the Al-Hani area.
Fire was exchanged between the two groups and three RPGs fired in the air by the suspects, but there have not been any reported injuries.
The security services are said to have arrested some of the men and seized a quantity of drugs and alcohol, whilst other suspects escaped.
Details of how many men were arrested and how much contraband has been seized are not yet clear.
