Acting officiously

Dear Editor,

Yesterday evening, my husband and I decided we wanted to go to the seaside, near the Mahari Radisson Blu hotel.

We . . .[restrict]bought coffee and water and we headed by car, about 8 pm to the seafront . . . we parked the car, intending to go for a stroll along the seaside.

But within 60 seconds another car drew up beside us and another car behind it –  both cars had no registration plates.

Out of the cars came young men dressed casually in T-shirts and slippers, with walkie-talkies.

They proceeded to ask us what we were doing there and asked for identification . . . . . they asked what were our jobs and again what were we doing there ?

They told us that it would be better not remain there, so we left.

Where were their identification cards ? Who are these people ?

I would be grateful if anyone can tell me who are these people.

 Yours sincerely,
Name and email address supplied
