Benghazi, 23 September:
Military police have assumed responsibility for the security of Benghazi’s Jalaa hospital following the disbanding of the Ansar Al-Sharia . . .[restrict]brigade, which previously guarded the premises.
The brigade was driven from its compound in Benghazi on Friday night by protesters demanding an end to militia rule in the city, and its members were also forced to leave Jalaa Hospital on the same evening.
The hospital’s public relations officer, Abdulla Al-Bornawi, added that several patients injured in Friday’s fighting had now been discharged, and that they had not received serious injuries.
