Tripoli, 22 August:
Several men have been killed and others wounded in a series of clashes that have taken place between armed . . .[restrict]groups and government security forces in Tarhuna over the past 24 hours.
The precise number of dead is unknown, but Supreme Security Committee sources have said the fighting was the result of an operation to apprehend suspects in Sunday’s car bombings in Tripoli, which killed two people.
Thirty-two people were subsequently arrested in connection with the attacks, whilst a number of additional bombs have also been found and defused across Tripoli.
