Tripoli, 12 August:
A group of Egyptian protestors caused the brief closure of the Libyan border crossing at Salloum. Security forces regained control of the situation and traffic has begun to flow again.
The group, thought to be around 30 residents of Salloum, were expressing their anger at the complex procedures imposed on people wishing to enter Libya; they gathered at the border crossing, west of the town, and stopped vehicles that were trying to enter Egypt.
Authorities in the area have launched an investigation into the incident.
This is not the first case of protests at the Salloum border crossing; in April two people were killed in clashes between troops and protestors attempting to stop traffic. [/restrict]
