Tripoli, 1 August:
Police in the eastern town of Marj have staged a sit-in protest.
The officers are lobbying for maintenance work to . . .[restrict]be done on the town’s police head quarters. They say they are frustrated by the fact that a tender was approved for the maintenance work but it has not been carried out. An inquiry has been launched into the matter.
They also want the reinstatement of a LD 100 grant that was payed to police personnel in the past.
As part of their protest, they have repainted their new red and black vehicles black and white instead. [/restrict]
