Tripoli, 17 July 2012:
The first batch of 817 Libyan . . .[restrict]police recruits left Libya for Turkey today for training. They are to be trained at Adile Sadullah Mermerci Police Training Centre in Istanbul within the framework of a bilateral agreement between the two countries.
The 152 Libyan police recruits who have gone to Turkey are to spend seven and a half months in training before returning to Libya to take up police duties. While being trained alongside Turkish police cadets, they will instructed in traffic control, communications and other areas of policing.
As well as Turkey, Libyan police are being sent for training to Britain,Qatar and the UAE. However, the overwhelming majority, some 10,000, are being trained in Jordan.
