Tripoli, 2 June:
The Justice & Construction party’s electoral headquarters in the eastern town of Marj were set ablaze on Sunday afternoon . . .[restrict]by unidentified assailants.
The attack comes on the same day as the HNEC headquarters in Benghazi and Tobruk were also attacked by pro-federalist protesters angry at what they perceive to be the unjust distribution of seats in the National Conference.
The head of the branch, Hassan Massoud, said the incident was “not so much an attack on the party as on the democratic process in general”.
Massoud added that he had submitted a formal complaint to the competent authorities in the town. [/restrict]
