Tripoli, 3 June:
Coast guards have discovered a number of bags on the sea-shore some 110 kilometers east of Sirte. They were . . .[restrict]attached to a parachute. According a spokesman for Sirte Supreme Security Committee, on examination the bags were found to contain heroin.
Ammar Assayid also said that next to the bags was a number of home-made bombs, locally known as “Gelatina”.
Assayid could not say who might have left the goods on the beach or when it had happened. He said that the coast guard patrols were now keeping a closer eye on beaches.
