Tripoli, 27 May:
The government has agreed to appoint representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs in the east and south of . . .[restrict]the country. At the cabinet’s 20th regular session, held in Tripoli on Wednesday, Ms. Suad Mohamed Ganoor was as a representative of the Social Affairs Ministry in Fezzan, an Abu Bakr Rajab Amari was appoinnted representative in Cyrenaica. The appointments are seen as part of moves to decentralise and devolve government administration in the country.
The government also approved a request made by the Ministry of Social Affairs to activate the management of the Marriage Support Fund. The government has formed a committee headed by Ali Muhammad Harbi which includes representatives from the ministries of Local Government, Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Youth and Sport as well as Culture and Civil Affairs. The aim is to follow up and execute marriage support programmes.
The government requested the ministry to prepare an organisational structure and a schedule of tasks for the fund in order to present it for a formal approval to the NTC. [/restrict]
