The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ashour Ben Khayal, met with US ambassador Gene A. Cretz at the end of his term as Washington’s envoy . . .[restrict]to Libya.
The two reviewed the positive developments taking place in relations between Libya and the United States in various fields. Cretz expressed his thanks to the Libyan government and its various institutions for the help they had given him. It had made his job all the easier and contributed to the development of the present positive relations between the two countries.
He congratulated Libyans on their revolution. He had supported it from the moment it started, he said. For his part, Khayal thanked the ambassador for what had been achieved during his time in office and the consequent new relationship with the US. [/restrict]
