Dear Editor,
?With reference to the article “Car jacking turns violent“, I am horrified. . . .[restrict]Do we have to lock ourselves into our fortress and raise the drawbridge? If only we had one!’ Margaret pleads. Yet, alas there is no ear to hear. Although this is not the first time I hear such a story, I felt the same anger and fury build up in my soul. As a Libyan woman I DEMAND that Libyan women feel safe in their own country.
We talk about women empowerment? Are we joking? It is just a show for the outside world to see how sophisticated we are and how willing to embrace the values of the ‘free world’? Thank you Libya Herald.Thank you for choosing to be on the side of the common people — the voice of the Libyan women; those who have to suffer in silence everyday of their lives in our changed Libya.’
