Tripoli, 16 April:

The interim government approved the request made by the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, for an increase of . . .[restrict]the monthly salaries of imams, preachers and Quranic teachers.

The government agreed that the salary increases be included in the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs’ budget.

It called on the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to work together to ensure the necessary funds were in place to implement the resolution.
