The budget was approved at a meeting the NTC on Sunday. The biggest in Libya’s history, it was drawn up and approved by the cabinet on February 29.
In a TV interview last Friday NTC chairman Mustafa Abdul Jalil said the government had to move more quickly in implementing policy programs, in particular by providing support for local councils. However, on Saturday, he said that the NTC’s acceptance of the budget showed that it was fully supportive of the government’s programme. [/restrict]
