The Voice of Libyan Women, a active Libyan women’s NGO, has been nominated for ‘The Women Deliver 50’ contest for International Women’s . . .[restrict]Day!. This contest will choose the top 50 inspiring ideas and solutions that deliver for girls and women.

Women Deliver is a global advocacy initiative bringing together voices from around the world to call for saf motherhood and action against maternal death. Launched at a groundbreaking 2007 conference, Women Deliver works globally to generate political commitment and financial investment for fulfilling Millennium Development Goal no.5 — to reduce maternal mortality and achieve universal access to reproductive health by 2015.

Out of hundreds of submissions, a selection committee of experts and advocates from leading global NGOs and foundations chose 25 per category. Libya’a VLW was one of them. The top 125 have been posted and voters may choose their 10 favorites, per category. The 50 winners, to be announced on 8 March, International Women’s Day, will be featured prominently on Women Deliver’s website, through the selection committee’s social media portals, and at the Women Deliver 2013 conference in Kuala Lumpur.

VLW has entered their ‘Women’s Charter Project’ in the Awareness and Advocacy Section. More information can be found on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/womendeliver?v=app_126231547426086 . [/restrict]
