A small hand bomb was thrown at security officials in the south-western town of Murzuk on Thursday, injuring six, writes our . . .[restrict]reporter Bubakr Mohamad in the town. They are said to be Qaddafi supporters. No arrests have been made.
A pro-Qaddafi website based in Algeria has claimed that two security officials were killed in the attack but our reporter says there were no deaths.
It is thought that the incident is related to this week’s clashes in Kufra between the Zway tribe backed by NTC forces and the Tebu community in which at least 30 people died. Murzuk is also home a significant community of Tebu people.
The town is located in the Murzuk Basin from which 25 percent of Libyan oil comes. [/restrict]
