Tripoli, 12 July 2015:
In a continuing push westwards, militants from Daesh today took over a village near Abu Grain . . .[restrict]without encountering any resistance.
Al-Wushka, 35 kilometres east of Abu Grain was occupied without a fight. It is unclear if there were any Misratan militias in the area at the time.
The village is exactly 100 kilometres along the coastal highway from Daesh-held Sirte, back from which Misratan fighters were pushed last month.
In Sirte itself, Daesh has begun demolishing houses of politicians who oppose them. It is reported that at least a dozen homes have been looted and then destroyed, either by explosive placed within the buildings or by fire from RPGs.
One of the wrecked properties, in the town’s Swawa district, belongs to GNC member Mohamed Abduljaleel Al-Shawesh.
Meanwhile the militants issued a statement today, admitting that they had been pushed out of Derna by the Mujahedeen Shura Council but vowing to return and avenge their fighters killed during their ouster. [/restrict]
