Tripoli, 16 March 2015:
The Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs has told Libyan Ambassador to Kuwait Mohamed Omeish to . . .[restrict]leave the country within the week, said a report from the Ministry today.
The decision has been made at the request of the House of Representatives (HoR) in Tobruk, which said that Omeish was backing Omer Al-Hassi’s National Salvation antigovernment in Tripoli and, therefore, needed to be replaced.
Indeed, Omeish has been very clear that his allegiance does not lie with the HoR. On 12 November, just after the Libyan Supreme Court ruled to against the election law, Omeish retweeted a statement by Abdulrazag Alaradi saying that the HoR should dissolve itself.
In February, Omeish criticised Egyptian/Libyan government airstrikes on Derna, posting a picture on Twitter of their effects on the city.
Omeish, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Justice and Construction Party, was the coordinator of the 17 February Coalition in Tripoli that organised the rebellion in the capital that led to the overthrow of Qaddafi. [/restrict]
