Tripoli, 22 February 2015:
The court appointed to try Saif Al-Islam Qaddafi, former spy chief Abdullah Senussi and other . . .[restrict]top Qaddafi regime figures convened today and adjourned yet again, in what is quickly becoming a predictable process. The court is to reconvene on 8 March.
As before, Saif Al-Islam did not appear via live feed from his Zintani prison cell. As before, technical problems were cited, though it is assumed that, since they were ejected from Tripoli and their stronghold at the now-destroyed international airport, the Zintanis are refusing to take part in the proceedings.
At least one defense lawyer was fined 50 LD for not appearing. The past several times that the court has convened many of the lawyers have not shown up and been fined.
