Tripoli, 30 December 3014:
Those who seek to undermine the UN’s efforts to bring warring factions together for dialogue . . .[restrict]will face repercussions, European Union High Representative Federica Mogherini has warned.
Mentioning the air strikes in Misrata and fighting in the Gulf of Sirte, Mogherini reminded combatants that these may be subject to sanctions under UN Security Council Resolution 2174.
“The EU stands ready to implement restrictive measures against those fuelling violence in Libya,” said Morgherini in a statement made in Brussels today.
She emphasised that a solution in Libya can only come through political dialogue. [/restrict]
