Speaking in an interview on the newly re-launched Al-Wataniya state satellite TV channel, Prime Minister Abdullah . . .[restrict]Thinni said that Egypt’s security and stability represents Libya’s security and stability too.
Thinni was commenting on his recent visit to Egypt following an invitation from Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Thinni acknowledged the historic role that Egypt played in the 1940 and 50’s when the Libyan opposition to the Italian colonization and the Libyan Sennusi army were formed in exile in Egypt.
“The visit was to discuss cooperation in the fields of military training and to increase efficiency in various capacities since the Egyptian army, police and detectives have a more established tradition. We also targeted in the visit and signed an agreement in the field of economy and also a senior Egyptian health delegation will visit Libya’s eastern region next Thursday made up of military and civilian medics”.
Thinni also confirmed that the matter of Egyptian visas for Libyans was also discussed “It has been discussed with the President and Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and the Egyptian Interior Minister agreed with his Libyan counterpart on the development of a mechanism as a result of the presence of Libya’s security vulnerabilities”, explained Thinni.
